At Story Box Swap Shop, we believe that storytelling is a powerful tool for children’s development. By facilitating a borrowing and swapping system for Tonie figures, we not only keep entertainment fresh and exciting but also significantly reduce the environmental impact of toy production and waste.

Our Journey

The Story Behind Story Box Swap Shop

Story Box Swap Shop was born from a very real parenting moment.
When my daughter received a Tonie Box for Christmas at age 3, it quickly became a household favourite. As her collection of Tonie figures grew, I noticed a pattern – some were loved and replayed endlessly, while others were set aside after just a few listens. It started to feel wasteful, especially considering how much we’d spent (and how many well-meaning relatives had contributed!).

That’s when the idea struck: what if families could borrow Tonie figures instead of buying them outright? A flexible, affordable, and fun way to enjoy new stories without the clutter or cost.

So in 2025, I set up Story Box Swap Shop – a borrowing service for families that makes story time more exciting, affordable, and sustainable.
